Since the December announcement of replacement legislation for the Resource Management Act the UDF RM Reform working group – Ekin Sakin, David Hattam, Jeremy Butler, Graeme Scott, Eva Zombori and Jade McFarlane – has been hard at work putting together a submission on the Planning Bill. The deadline for submissions to the Environment Select Committee is 4.30pm Friday 13 February.
Given how tight the timeframe is, a quick 5-10 minute Survey has been prepared by the RM Reform working group as one way you can signal your input to the submissions process. It asks for preferences on a multi-choice array of proposed responses to selected parts and clauses contained in the Planning Bill.
The Survey is up and ready to complete NOW – just click here. It will be kept open through to Monday 10 February but we are seeking as many responses as possible before Waitangi Day. It’s a good use of your lunch break !
The overhaul represented by the Planning Bill and Natural Environment Bill will bring significant change. The UDF encourages individuals and all parties with a stake in the future of our planning frameworks to make submissions so that the legislation that is carried forward is as fit for purpose as possible.
