Kia ora UDF members! The Urban Design Forum National Committee for 2024-2026 wishes all our members and supporters a Meri Kirihimete, peaceful holiday season and happy beginnings to another challenging and fulfilling year of urban design mahi ahead in 2025.
The new committee elected in October is: Ekin Sakin – Christchurch, Jos Coolen – Wellington, Xin Tian – Auckland, Cam Coull – Christchurch, Peter Croft – Wellington, Jade McFarlane – Christchurch, Deb Lee Sang – Auckland, Maria Walker – Auckland, and Lauren White – Auckland – with Ekin, Jos and Xin continuing their voluntary service with UDF.
A huge thanks goes to preceding committee members George Weeks, Anthony Vile, Dave Compton-Moen, Farzad Zamani and the leadership provided by Lisa Mein and Tim Church.
Together the new committee combines their experience working at day-jobs in urban design at Christchurch City Council, Boffa Miskell, Tāmaki Regeneration Company, Common Ground, Wellington City Council, Eliot Sinclair, Isthmus, Eke Panuku and Urban Acumen, with a dedicated passion for championing urban design in Aotearoa.
With the hustle and bustle of 2024 almost at an end, plans are underway for engaging more extensively with members in 2025. All and any ideas for identifying new topics, issues to debate, speaker events and profile raising for urban design are being welcomed.
Please email manager@urbandesignforum.org.nz with any ideas you may come across on your holidays, and please check back to the UDF website and our social media channels on LinkedIn and Instagram for updates.
