UDINZ promoting a wide angle lens for 2024 Photo competition

Entries for the UDINZ Photography competition being run by UDINZ close on Sunday 22 September – with finalists and a supreme winner to be officially announced on Monday 7 October 2024 to coincide with World Architecture Day. An entry form with additional information is available here.

The overarching theme is “Urban Development Photography distinctly of Aotearoa New Zealand”. The competition allows for single images to be entered against six categories, with scope for multiple entries, as follow:

  1. Urban regeneration
  2. Density done well (all typologies)
  3. Social & community housing
  4. Masterplanned community building
  5. “Pacific’s triple star” (examples of the built form that include elements of Māori or Pasifika culture or other elements that are unambiguously of and from Aotearoa NZ)
  6. A category simply called ‘Yes I took this on my smartphone!!’.

Information from UDINZ: Any photo submitted must be one that you personally took, own the rights to, or have the appropriate permission to submit from the photographer (and any persons depicted in the images). You will, by uploading your image be deemed to have granted UDINZ a royalty free non exclusive right to use, copy and reproduce these images both during the competition and afterwards whether on our website, in marketing collateral or other publications, on social media and otherwise (attribution of photographers will be made where possible based on nature of use).
