We are recruiting for several roles to be a part of Council’s Tāmaki Makaurau Design Ope (TMDO) known as the Urban Design Unit. We are part of the Chief Planning Office, where future policy and strategic directions, including climate change, shape how our city grows for the future. The Tāmaki Makaurau Design Ope provides design leadership, high-quality advice, and considerable expertise in the technical fields of urban, Māori, and universal design, landscape architecture, and planning. We follow collaborative and innovative practices, striving to ensure that best possible design outcomes are achieved, every time.
Our collective mahi inputs into regional and national strategies; influencing projects at site, precinct, centre, and regional scales. We promote place-based design and practice, to achieve great urban, environmental and community outcomes. We recognise our place in the world, Tāmaki Makaurau, and are always looking to the big challenges that we collectively face, now and into the future.
