This project is a collaboration between Greater Wellington Regional Council, Hutt City Council and NZ Transport Agency.
It involves 3km of river through the heart of Hutt City and the preliminary concept design has it all – new flood protection that considers climate change implications, an extensive new city centre residential development with promenade along the river, two new bridges across the river, a river park including wetlands and in-river ecological enhancements, improved city rail connectivity and SH2 intersection options.
Come along to hear from the project’s urban design, flood management, transport and environmental design leaders and discussion about this significant regional project and the issues the process and design has encountered.
This event will be of interest to engineers, urban designers, landscape architects, architects, planners, social scientists and ecologists.
